Mi Primera Vez Ir a Camping

Vamos a camping!

Mas temprano en este año, mi amigo Noah me preguntó si yo quisiera ir a camping por mi primera vez. Dado que, Noah y yo habíamos ido en muchas caminatas alrededor la Area de Bahía, yo me sentí cómodo con la idea de ir a camping. Ahora, me había preocupado con la idea de osos y insectos, pero con Noah y su esposa, Vichelle, yo trataría casi cualquier cosa. Y después de pasar algún tiempo en Wyoming, con mi amigo Russ, el fin de semana antes, yo pensé que sería bien.  Y que mas, habría cinco de nosotros, incluyendo dos de su amigos, Madeleine y Jake…una pareja.

Noah organizó un sitio a uno de los mas belleza lugares en Norte de California, que se llama Punto Reyes. Nuestro sitio de camping era situado arriba del mar por casi 800 pies y nosotros tuvimos que caminar 1.5 millas del estacionamiento. Nuestra primera noche era en la niebla.

Huegla decir, nuestra primera noche era muy interesante. Después de llegar al sitio de camping, hicimos nuestras tiendas y cenamos. Vichelle hizo una buena cena y nosotros cenamos y bebimos con reyes en Punto Reyes 🙂 Y por las 11 en la noche , nosotros estábamos muy cansados y fuimos a dormir. Sábado, nos levantamos alrededor de las 9 en la mañana y tuvimos una otra comida con huevos, salchicha, té, café, y fruta. Otra vez, comemos como Reyes. Pero, estábamos en las nubes desde que la niebla todavía estaba denso. Decidimos a caminar al mar por nuestra caminata por el día. Salimos alrededor de las 11:45 en la mañana para lo que se puso una buena caminata. A veces hacía sol y otras veces era niebla, pero al fin era maravillosa. En total, caminamos 8 millas durante esa caminata y despues de eso, regresamos al nuestro sitio de camping para ver una vista fantastica.

Huelga decir, la caminata valía de pena. Pues, se pensaría que después de una caminata de 8 millas y arriba almenos 800 pies, que pasaríamos un poco tiempo a nuestro sitio y descansar. Pero, nosotros queremos ir y comer ostras de BBQ en la puebla cerca de Punto Reyes. Entonces, caminamos 1.5 millas abajo de la colina y atrás a coche para un viaje a Tony’s, un restaurante por el lago que tiene ostras de BBQ. Esto era mi primera vez comer ostras, pero no tuve miedo porque me gusta mucho mejillones.  Y tengo que decir, las ostras era muy, muy bueno…especialmente con pan y vino después de un día de 9.5 millas de caminar. Pero ahora, la niebla estaba empezando de volver y queremos regresar al nuestro sitio antes de la oscuridad. Después de una breve parada en la puebla de Punto Reyes, regresamos el estacionamiento y caminamos las ultimas 1.5 millas por el día. Y al punto que regresamos al nuestro sitio, la niebla estaba regresando.

Y cuando yo regresé al sitio, inmediatamente  dormí porque yo estaba molido. El siguiente día, nos levantamos y preparamos para salir nuestro sitio. Pero antes de ir a casa, nosotros paramos a un sitio secreto cerca de Punto Reyes para un picnic en el río. Era un buen lugar y un perfecto final a un gran fin de semana.

En Inglés: Earlier this year, my friend Noah I asked if I wanted to go camping for my first time. Given that, Noah and I had been on many hikes around the Bay Area, I felt comfortable with the idea to go camping. Now, I was concerned about the idea of bears and insects, but with Noah and his wife, Vichelle, I would try almost anything. And after spending some time in Wyoming, with my friend Russ, the weekend before, I thought it would be fine. And plus there would be five of us, including two of his friends, Jake and Madeleine … a couple.

Noah booked a site at one of the more beautiful places in Northern California, called Point Reyes. Our camping site was located above the sea by nearly 800 feet and we had to walk 1.5 miles from the parking spot. Our first night was in the fog.

Needless to say, our first night was very interesting. After arriving at the camping site, we made our tents and ate dinner. Vichelle made a good dinner and we drank and dined like kings at Point Reyes:) And at 11 at night, we were very tired and went to sleep. Saturday we got up around 9 in the morning and we had another meal with eggs, sausage, tea, coffee, and fruit. Again, we eat like kings. But we were in the clouds since the fog was still dense. We decided to take our hike by the sea for the day. We left around 11:45 in the morning for what turned out to be a good hike. At times it was sunny and other times it was foggy, but in the end was wonderful. In total, we walked 8 miles for the hike and after that we returned to our camp site to see a fantastic view.

Needless to say, the hike was worth it. Well, one would think that after a hike of 8 miles and at least 800 feet up, and we would spend a little time ar our site and rest. But we wanted to go and eat BBQ oysters in town near Point Reyes. Then we hiked 1.5 miles down the hill and back to car for a trip to Tony’s, a restaurant by the lake which has BBQ oysters. This was my first time to eating oysters, but I wasn’t afraid because I love mussels. And I have to say, the oysters were very, very good … especially with bread and wine after a day of hiking 9.5 miles. But now, the fog was starting to come back and we wanted to return to our site before dark. After a brief stop in the town of Point Reyes, we returned the car park and hiked the last 1.5 miles for day. And at the point we return to our site, the fog was coming back.

And when I returned to the site, I immediately fell asleep because I was exhausted. The next day we got up and prepared to leave our site. But before going home, we stopped at a secret site near Point Reyes for a picnic on the river. It was a good spot and a perfect end to a great weekend.
