Una Notte a Hedley Lounge a San Jose

Ieri sera, ho continuato la mia settimana con vino per visitare un lounge a San Jose, chiamato Hedley Lounge al Hotel De Anza. Sono stato lí prima col mio cugino e la sua sposa il anno passato. Ma, quando in quando ho pensato di andare lí per ascoltare il jazz dal vivo che loro hanno ogni fine di settimana.

Il giovedí nella notte, dopo di un giorno molto lungo al mio lavoro e la mia cena spagnola, mi ho rimasto finche cinque nella mattina guardando due film nella mia computer – “Spanglish” e “Vicky Christina Barcelona.” Ho visto le due prima di questo tempo perche le due sono molte buone e hanno mantenuto il mio interesse. Ma, “Vicky Christina Barcelona” ha musica molto bene e la maggior parte della era jazz instrumental. Mi piaciuto molto e quindi ho comprato il soundtrack.

Beh, il sabato, dopo di un giorno di spuntare con alcuni amici nel sole nel parche per celebrare i giorno ultimi del mio amico Kurt in California e un po sonnellino, ho deciso andare a Hedley Lounge per alcuno vino e jazz dal vivo.

Il gruppo della notte era il Brian Ho Jazz Band…con una persona nel organo, una nel sassofono, e una nel batteria. Ho saputo che l’ho visto prima perche la sua faccia mi ha sembrato familiare. E era la veritá, lui mi ha detto che quando di quando lui suona al Pampas…una ristorante in Palo Alto che vado con i miei amici quando in quando dopo di lavoro nel Venerdí. La musica era perfetta per mi quella notte. Era liscio ma con energia. Penso che il organo ha fatto la differenza.

Ho rimasto lí per quasi due ore, godendo due bicchieri di vino, vedendo la gente e leggendo un po del mio libro, “Arte Menor” by Benita Gonzalez. Ho cominiciato la notte con un bicchiere di 2007 Avalon Cabernet da Napa. Ho bevuto quello vino molti tempi fa ed é uno dei miei favoriti. Sono stato felice per vederlo nella lista. Per il mio secondo bicchiere, ho deciso per provare il vino della notte – 2008 Tamari Riserva Malbec da Mendoza, Argentina. Ero appropriato dato che leggevo un libro di una scrittrice da Argentina.

I due vini erano molto bene e perfetto per la notte. In mezzo dei miei sorsi, ho goduto la vista delle donne asiatiche ben vestito con i suoi ragazzi. Mi ha ricordato del mio amore precedente e come ci divertivamo nelle notte come queste. Io so con tempo…tempi come questi accadrà ancora.

Insomma, era un buon modo per passare la notte. Era anche un buon modo per celebrare tranquillamente il mio anniversario personal – 20 Marzo. Ieri, sei anni fa, ho finito la mia laurea specialistica e, ironicamente, ieri ho capito il mio prossimo passo nella mia vita dalla vista professional. Per quelli che vogliono saperne piú di quello, posso dirte in persona. Io so che é quando una persona é aperto alle cose intorno di loro, é incredibile lo che sucede. Finche la prossima volta!

In Inglese: A Night at Hedley Lounge in San Jose

Last night, I continued my week with wine by visiting a wine lounge in San Jose, called Hedley Lounge at Hotel De Anza. I’d been there before with my cousin and his wife last year. But from time to time I thought about going there to listen to the live jazz that they have every weekend.

Thursday night, after a long day at my job and my Spanish dinner, I stayed up until 5am watching two movies on my computer- “Spanglish” and “Vicky Christina Barcelona.” I’d seen the two before that time because there are both very good and they kept my interest. “Vicky Christina Barcelona” has very good music and most of it was instrumental jazz. I really liked it and so I bought the soundtrack.

Well, Saturday, after a day of hanging with some friends in the sun in the park to celebrate my friend Kurt’s last days in California and a little nap, I decided to go to Hedley Lounge for some wine and live jazz.

The group of the night was the Brian Ho Jazz Band … with a person on the organ, one on the saxophone, and one on the drums. I knew that I’d seen him before because his face seemed familiar to me. And it was true, he told me from time to time he plays at Pampas … a restaurant in Palo Alto that I go to with my friends occasionally after work on Fridays. The music was perfect for me that night. It was smooth but with energy. I think the organ made a difference.

I stayed there for nearly two hours, enjoying two glasses of wine, people watching and reading a bit of my book, “Arte Menor” by Benita Gonzalez. I began the night with a glass of 2007 Avalon Cabernet from Napa. I have drunk that wine many times before and it is one of my favorites. I was happy to see it on the list. For my second drink, I decided to try the wine of the night – 2008 Tamari Malbec Reserve from Mendoza, Argentina. It was appropriate given that I was reading a book by a writer from Argentina.

Both wines were very good and perfect for the night. In between my sips, I enjoyed the sights of well-dressed Asian women with their boyfriends. It reminded me of my former love and how we used to enjoy ourselves on nights like these. I know with time…times like these will happen again.

In short, it was a good way to spend the night. It was also a good way to celebrate my personal anniversary quietly (March 20). Yesterday, six years ago, I finished my Master’s degree and, ironically, yesterday I realized my next step in my life from a professional view. For those who want to know more about that, I can tell you in person. I just know that when a person is open to things around them, it is incredible what happens. Until next time!
