Ricordo Una Settimana delle Esperienze di Vino

La ultima settimana, mi ho divertito molti bicchieri di vino di molti tipi diversi. Ogni volta é stato con miei amici e aquello é lo che ha fatto interessante. Ironicamente, ogni volta era speciale in su propio modo e ancora ognuno era stranamente si ha collegato.

La Mia Esperienza Col Mio Ridge 2003 Zinfandel e Syrah

Il sabato passato, una di mie amice (Candice) ha vistato California ed ha passato il viaggio con la sua amica (e la mia) Emilia e la sua famiglia in Antioch. Candice mi ha detto che quando lei visite, io sarei responsibile per il vino. Santi, il suo marito di Emilia, sempre cucina paella, dato che lui é di Granada, Spagna. Ma, quindi io sono il amante di vino, io sarei responsibile per il vino. Ho deciso portare le due vini piu speciale nella mia collezione. Per pui di quattro anni, ho due bottiglie di vini nella mia cantina dal mio vigneto favorito – Ridge. Le due erano di 2003, uno era un Syrah e il altro era un Zinfandel da York Creek. Ho tenuto le due per molti anni per un occazione speciale. Ho pensato che questo era un buon tiempo.

Half Moon Bay alle nove nella mattina.

Ho andato a Antioch dopo di alzarmi alle quasi sei nella mattina e guidare da Half Moon Bay. Ho andato nella mattina per vedere le competizione dei surfer ha chiamato Maverick. Era un buon giorno per passare tempo nella mattina nel mar. Ma per il tempo che ho guidato a Antioch (quasi alla una) sono stato molto stanco. Sorprendentemente, la paella é stato cucinato e tutti erano preparato per mangiare. Solamente, ho bisognato di dormire. Mentre ho fatto un sonnellino nel sofa, tutti hanno preparato il tavolo. Quando mi ho svegliato e ho andato al tavolo, ho visto che Candice ha versato il mio vino da Ridge (il Zin) nelle tazze plastiche. Ho pensato che era molto strano ma molto divertente. Lei si é sentita mala ma ho riso e l’ho detto che non mi importa. Era piu importante per passare un buon tempo con amici e bevere vino in qualsiasi tipo di tazza.

Mi vini especiale.

Il Zin da Ridge é il mio vino favorito e tutti sono piaciuto loro. Ancora dopo di quasi sette anni, la bottiglia sembrare come era un nuovo. Anche, come noi continuiamo bevendo il mio altro vino da tazze platische, ho pensato che il Syrah era buono. Ma, ho creduto che il Syrah si ha perso un po del suo sapore. O ed a proposito, la paella era molto bene….come sempre. Grazie a Santi!

Fogarty 2007 Pinot Noir

Prima della sua vacanze, Candice mi ha detto che io dovrei comprare una bottiglia di vino per il suo marito, Josh. Tre anni fa, loro mi hanno vistato in California e loro ho portato a Fogarty per un giorno di vino. Loro si sono divertiti e specialemente sono piaciuto loro il vino da Fogarty. Lei mi ha detto che lui é piaciuto molto il Cabernet da Fogarty, e mi ha detto che dovrei comprare una bottiglia per lui. Ma, non mi l’ho ricordato finche sono stato guidando a Antioch. Allora, ho fatto un stop a BevMo mentre nel mio cammino a Antioch. Loro non hanno avuto il Cabernet da Fogarty ma hanno avuto un Pinot Noir. Beh, ho pensato che tutti vini da Fogarty erano bene, e allora l’ho comprato. Lei era felice che mi ho ricordato per comprare una bottiglia da Fogarty e non si importa il tipo.

Beh, il venerdi, ho andato a una ristorante italiana in Palo Alto con mia tia (che era molta scarsa si chiama “La Strada Ristorante”) per celebrare il suo nuovo lavoro. Ho visto che loro hanno avuto una bicchiere di Fogarty Pinot Noir da 2007, e allora l’ho preso. E posso dire che ogni gusto di quello vino era buonissimo. Era spettacolare! Spero che Candice e Josh pensano la stessa cosa quando loro lo bevono.

Un Piccolo Gusto a Lavanda

La mia ultima esperienza questa settimana con vino era con un amica di lavoro. Lei gli piace andare al cinema antica (Stanford Teatro) e mi ha invitato per accompagnarla questo sabato per vedere un film di Akiro Kurosawa (si chiama Seven Samarai). Ci siamo incontrati prima del cinema per bevere e mangiare alcuni antipasti a un buon ristorante “Lavanda” una strada dal cinema. Abbiamo deciso provare un vino volo. Abbiamo voluto selezionare i vini che hanno bisognato dalla lista e allora abbiamo deciso per provare sei vini diversi per vedere i diversi fra ognuno. Non mi ricordo tutti nomi di ognuno ma mi ho ricordato i tipi.

Abbiamo bevuto due Pinot Noir (uno da Francia e uno da California). Le due non erano buone ma il vino da Francia era il meglio. Tutti e due Pinot Noir avevo avuto un aroma di un Syrah….aquello era strano. Allora, abbiamo provato un Gamay da Beaujolais (Francia) e ho pensato che era bene ma piatto. Mi piace molto il Tempranillo, forse perche é da Spagna 🙂 e lei ha pensato che sembra bene ma aveva avuto un gusto come noce. Lei le piace molto il Syrah da Bighorn (un vigneto in California e dove gli conozca i fabriccanti) e noi tutti piace il Zin. Aquello é perche tutti di noi piace vino forte. Era un buon tempo e un grande modo per terminare la mia settimana con vino.

Last week, I enjoyed many glasses of wine of many different types. Each time was with my friends and that is what made it interesting. Ironically, each time was special in its own way and yet each was strangely connected.

My Experience with My 2003 Ridge Zinfandel and Syrah

This past Saturday, one of my friends (Candice) visited California and stayed with her friend (and mine) Emily and her family in Antioch. Candice told me that when she visits, I would be responsible for the wine. Santi, Emily’s husband, always cooks paella, given that he is from Granada, Spain. But since I am the wine lover, I would be responsible for the wine. I decided to bring the two most special wines in my collection. For more than four years, I had two bottles of wine in my cellar from my favorite vineyard – Ridge. The two were from 2003, one was a Syrah and the other was a Zinfandel from York Creek. I had been saving the two for many years for a special occasion and I thought this was a good time.

I went to Antioch after getting up to almost six in the morning and driving to Half Moon Bay. I went in the morning to see the Mavericks Surfers’ competition. It was a good day to spend time in the morning on the beach. But by the time I drove to Antioch (almost 1:00p) I was very tired. Surprisingly, the paella was cooked and everyone was ready to eat. I only wanted to sleep. While I took a nap in the sofa, everyone prepared the table. When I woke up and I went to the table, I saw Candice poured my wine from Ridge (the Zin) into plastic cups. I thought it was very strange but very funny. She felt bad but I laughed and told her that I didn’t care. It was more important to spend some nice time with friends and drink wine in any type of cup.

The Zin to Ridge is my favorite wine and everyone liked it. Even after almost seven years, it tasted like a new bottle. Also, as we continued drinking my other wine from plastis cups, I thought the Syrah was good. But I believe that the Syrah lost some of its flavor. Oh and by the way, the paella was very good …. as always. Thanks to Santi!

Fogarty Pinot Noir 2007

Before her vacation, Candice told me that I should buy a bottle of wine for her husband, Josh. Three years ago, they saw me in California and I brought Fogarty for a day of wine. They enjoyed themselves and especially liked wine from Fogarty. She told me that he really like the Cabernet from Fogarty, and I said that I would buy a bottle for him. But I did not remember until I was driving to Antioch. So, I made a stop at BevMo while on my way to Antioch. They didn’t have the Cabernet from Fogarty but they did have a Pinot Noir. Well, I thought all Fogarty wines were foodl, so I bought it. She was happy that I remembered to buy a bottle of Fogarty and didn’t care which type.

Well, Friday I went to an Italian restaurant in Palo Alto with my aunt (which was of very poor quality called “La Strada Restaurant”) to celebrate her new job. I saw that they had a glass of Fogarty Pinot Noir from 2007, and so I ordered it. And I can say that every taste of the wine was delicious. It was spectaculor! I hope Candice and Josh think the same thing when they drink it.

A Little Taste of Lavender

My last experience this week with wine was with a friend from work. She likes going to the movies old (Stanford Theater) and invited me to accompany her this Saturday to watch a film by Akira Kurosawa (Seven Samarai is called). We met before the film for drinks and some appetizers at a good restaurant, “Lavender” a block from the cinema. We decided to try a wine flight. We wanted to select the wines from the list and then we decided to try six wines diferente between each one to see the differences. I can’t remember names of all of them but I do remember the types.

We drank two Pinot Noirs (one from France and one from California). Both weren’t very good but the wine from France was the best. Both Pinot Noirs had an aroma of Syrah….and that was strange. Then, we tried a Gamay from Beaujolais (France) and I thought it was good but flat. I really liked the Tempranillo, perhaps because it is from Spain 🙂 and she thought that it seemed good but had a taste like walnuts. Weird! She really liked the Syrah from the Bighorn (a vineyard in California and where she’s knows the winemakers) and we both like the Zin. That’s because we both of us like strong wines. It was a good time and a great way to end my week with wine.
