Il Mio Pomeriggio a Chianti

Beh, due settimane dopo dal mio tempo a Barterra per una festa, io ero in Italia per un weekend. Ho deciso che non andrei a Roma o Bologna per un giorno, ma piuttosto andrei a Chianti per un tour della regione. Come ho detto nel mio posto – Europe 2009: Parte Dos -io ero tanto stanco con le cittá e ho pensato che sarebbe una buona idea per visitare una regione di vino il piú famoso in Italia.

La regione é piuttosto vicino a Firenze al sud (quasi una ora per autobus). Il tour ha incluso un po’ di tiempo a un vigneto (Vicchiomaggio), la sua cantina, degustazione di vino, e un po’ di tempo in un villagio che si chiama, Greve. Mentre la gita, ho imparato sopra la regione, il suo olio d’oliva (e la sua storia), e sopra la vita nella regione. La guida era molto bene e divertente.

La regione mi ha ricordato a California, ma penso che California é piú bella. Subito dopo essere arrivato al vigneto, il autobus é andato sulla collina al castello e la cantina. Il tour ha cominciato con una passeggiata intorno il terreno circostante. Allora, noi siamo andati nella cantina e abbiamo veduto la vinicola e le botte. Dopo di quello, noi siamo andati giú all’indietro al negozio per la nostra degustazione di vino.

I vini per la desgustazione di vino.

Alla casa principale, noi (c’era sette di noi) ci siamo divertati una degustazione di vino dei quattro vini. Tutti erano rosso e costano fra 11 a 28 euro, e allora non erano molto costoso. Il primo era de 2007, che si chiamo un classico, e aveva una buona consistenza. Il secondo era uno Super Tuscan, quindi ha almeno 75 per cento delle uve Sangiovese di Tuscany con 25 per cento di Cabernet. Ironicamente, ho sentito odore di Cabernet piú di Sangiovese. Il terzo era un Chianti Classico (reserva) delle uve 25 anni fa. Ma, non mi sono piaciuto perché per mi era tanto forte.Il ultimo era cio che si hanno chiamato un vino divertente, quindi si lo hanno fatto con Merlot e secondo a loro, merlot é una uva che é molto dificile per crescere nella regione. Ma sorprendentemente, il vino ha vinto molti premi e mi sono piaciuto molto. Era, anche, il piú costoso dello grupo a 28 euro. Beh, non ne ho comprato ma mi sono divertato la degustazione di vino.

Dopo di quello, siamo andati al villagio di Greve. Il villagio era molto piccolo e dopo di un ora, io ero pronto per andare. Per qualcuno che ha un blog di vino, che si scrive in Italiano, almeno posso dire che ho andato a Italia per una degustazione di vino. 🙂

In Inglese: So after two weeks from my time at Barterra for a party, I was in Italy for a weekend. I decided that I would not go to Rome or Bologna for a day, but rather to go for a tour of the Chianti region. As I said in my post – Europe 2009: Parte Dos– I was so tired with cities and I thought it would be a good idea visit the  most famous wine region in Italy.

The region is fairly close to Florence to the south (almost an hour to bus). The tour included a bit of time at a vineyard (Vicchiomaggio), its winery, wine tasting, and a bit of  time in a village called, Greve. While on the trip, I learned about the region, its olive oil (and its history), and about life in the region. The guide was very good and funny.

The area reminded me a California, but I think California is more beautiful. Immediately after arriving at the vineyard, the bus went up the hill to the castle and the cellar. The tour began with a walk around the grounds. Then we went in the basement and we saw the winery and the barrels. After that, we went back down to the store for our  wine tasting.

At the main house, we (there was a thirst for us) we enjoyed a wine tasting of four wines. All were red and were between 11 to 28 euros, and so they are not very expensive. The first was from 2007, is called a classic, and had a good consistency. The second was a Super Tuscan, since it has at least 75 percent of Sangiovese from Tuscany with 25 percent Cabernet. Ironically, I  smelled more Cabernet than Sangiovese. The third was a Chianti Classico (Reserve) of grapes 25 years ago. But, I did not like because to me was so strong. The last one was what they called a funny wine, since it was made with Merlot and according to them, Merlot is a grape that is very dificult to grow in the region. But surprisingly, the wine has won many awards and I liked it alot. It was also the most expensive in the group at 28 euros. Well, I didn’t buy any but I enjoyed the wine tasting.

After that, we went to the village of Greve. The village was very small and after an hour, I was ready to go. For someone who has a blog of wine, which is written in Italian, at least I can say I went to Italy for a wine tasting.  🙂
