Il Cuore Assente

Alle volte, mi sembra strano ma molto stupendo come le mie interesse si uniscono. Come la ultima settimana, questo fine settimana era una miscela delle mie interesse. Ho andato molto posti per bevere e godere vino e alle due di loro, le mie interesse in aviazione e spagnola anche é stato misto.
2007 Mas Conscience – Syrah (Francia)
Il venerdi dopo di lavoro, ho andato il Wine Room in Palo Alto per leggere mi libro (Arte Menor) e provare un nuovo vino. Prima di selezionare un bicchiere, gli ho chieso al uomo dietro il bar per assagiare tre tipi di vini. Uno era da Argentina e era di una uva chiamato Banarda. Per mi, quello vino non ha un sapore distinto. Ma ho voluto assagiarlo perche non l’ho udito mai. Il secondo era un sorso di un vino da Storrs, un vigneto nelle montagne di Santa Cruz, California. Quello vino era un po di pesante per mi quello giorno, e quindi ho assagiato altro vino…un Syrah chiamato “Mas Conscience” da un regione in Francia che mi piace molto – Languedoc. Sto cominciando a notare che mi piacciono i vini da quella regione in Francia perche la clima é simile a California e quindi i vini hanno un sapore come vini da California. La diferenza é che i vini da Francia non sono troppo forte come quelli di California, possiblemente perche loro usualmente hanno meno alcol.
Ho scelto il vino di Mas Conscience e mi sono divertito guardare i giochi di palencanestro di NBA col mio libro nel bar. Durante leggendo il mio libro, altro uomo del bar mi ha avvicinato e ha veduto che sono stato leggendo un libro di spagnola. Lui si é seduto vicino a mi e ha detto delli altri scrittori spagnoli che io dovrei conoscere. Io gli ho ascolto e ho goduto la conversazione anche se non ho ritenuto i scrittori degli che lui mi ha detto. Beh, io mi sono contento colla conversazione perche per la magior parte io sono stato comodo parlare con lui. Non ho avuto bastante tiempo per diventirmi incomodo o pensare molto. Dopo di un bicchiere di vino che era molto bene, ho andato a mi casa per la notte.
Primo della mia prossima storia, un po del vino. Si chiama il vino un Syrah ma contiene la stessa quantitá di Syrah e Grenache (45% per uno). Anche ha un po di carignan (10%) e penso che ha quasi 14.5% alcol. Quindi, si penserebbe con la miscela e alcol che é stato fabbricato come un vino di California, non da Francia. Ma, non so come loro l’hanno fatto ma ha un sapore di un vino da Francia. Lo raccomanderei a mia gente. 🙂
I Vini di Bonny Doon
Il Sabato ho andato per un volo di tramonto con una amica del mio lavoro. Puoi vedere un posto sopra il bello volo al mio altro sitio, Jarard.com – The Pilot. Dopo del volo ho andato, come sempre, a Hedley Lounge in San Jose per ascoltare un po di jazz. Ho provato un vino nuovo ma era niente di che dovrei scrivere. Il prossimo giorno, il tempo era magnifico. Ho avuto preveduto passare parte del giorno con mia zia e la altra con miei amici in Half Moon Bay. Mia zia ha voluto fare qualcosa nella montagne dato che il giorno era cosí buono. Ho pensato di guidare a Santa Cruz e visitare un vigneto che sempre ho voluto visitare – Bonny Doon. Era fantastico dato che loro appena ha aperto una stanza di degustazione e un ristorante in Santa Cruz quasi alcuni mesi fa. Noi abbiamo preso un buonissimo giro a Santa Cruz, anche guidando per il mar lungo la via.
All’inizio, abbiamo mangiato al loro ristorante e il cibo era BUONISSIMO. Tutti le cose che ho messo nella mia bocca hanno un sapore buono. Abbiamo avuto Foie Gras con pan e frescas, patatas affumicato, con aioli, e ho domandato per una uova fritta e anche quella era magnifica. Lo raccomanderei il ristorante a tutti. Dopo di quello, abbiamo assagiato i loro vini. Si possa ricordare (dello mio ultimo posto – Le Esperienze che Hanno Unito Le Mie Interesse), la ultima settimana ho goduto un vino di Bonny Doon chiamato Le Cigare Volant (2004). Mi sono piaciuto molto e quindi mi sono excitato per provare i altri vini di loro. Quello giorno loro hanno i vini seguente:
- 2007 Cinsault (85% Cinsault e 15% Pinot Noir)
- 2003 Le Cigare Volant (35% Mouvedré, 32% Syrah, 26% Grenache, e 7% Cinsault)
- 2005 Le Cigare Volant (50% Grenache, 24% Mouvedré, 22% Syrah, con un po di Carignan e Cinsault)
- 2006 Nebbiolo (100%)
Era il mio primo tempo bevendo un vino di Cinsault ma mi piace il stile. Era come un Pinot Noir ma un po di leggero. Mi sono piacciono i due vini di Le Cigare Volant per il 2003 era il migliore. Mia zia ed io abbiamo comprato una mezza bottiglia di quello. Il nebbiolo era interesante perche era la mia seconda o terza volta provandolo. Penso che necessito provare piú per capire il sapore.
Il Cuore
Dopo di due ore con mia zia in Santa Cruz, ho guidato a mia casa per lasciarla ed allora ho guidato a Half Moon Bay per incontrare mio amico Koffi. Lui ed io ci siamo divertiti al Wine Bar in Half Moon Bay con un po di Clam Chowder, un po di musica (anche se non ci siamo piace il stile) e un bicchiere di vino. Ho veduto un vino chiamato Il Cuore nel menu, e quindi l’abbiamo provato. Il nome era interesante per mi, dato che la mia favorita canzone italiana e “Il Cuore Assente” per Giusy Ferreri. Il vino era abbastanza buono – niente specialmente per mi. Ma, lui ha comprato una bottiglia. Come sempre, lui ed io ci siamo divertiti molto parlando della vita, ma anche mi sono stato divertendo vedere i aeroplani volando per la aerea di Half Moon Bay per il airshow. La vista era magnifica ed era un buono modo per abassare il mio fine settimana.

At times, it seems strange but very beautiful how my interest come together. Like last week, this weekend was a mixture of my interests. I went many places to drink and enjoy wine and at two of them, my interests in aviation and Spanish and were also mixed.
2007 Mas Conscience – Syrah (France)
On Friday after work, I went to the Wine Room in Palo Alto to read my book (Arte Menor) and try a new wine. Before selecting a glass, I asked the man behind the bar to taste three kinds of wines. One was from Argentina and was of a grape called Banarda. For me, that wine didn’t have a distinct flavor. But I wanted to taste it because I’d never heard it. The second was a sip of wine from Storrs, a vineyard in the mountains of Santa Cruz, California. That wine was a bit heavy for me that day, and so I tasted another wine…a Syrah called “Mas Conscience” from a region in France that I like – Languedoc. I’m starting to notice that I like the wines from that region in France because the climate is similar to California and so the wines taste like wines from California. The difference is that wines from France are not so strong as those in California, possibly because they usually have less alcohol
I chose the Mas Conscience wine and I enjoyed watching an NBA game with my book in the bar. While reading my book, another guy from the bar approached me and saw that I was reading a book of Spanish. He sat next to me and spoke of the other Spanish writers that I should get to know. I listened him and enjoyed the conversation even though I didn’t retain the writers that he told me about. Well, I was happy with the conversation for the most part because I was comfortable talking with him. I did not have enough time to become uncomfortable or think too much. After a very good glass of wine, I went to my house for the night.
Before my next story, a bit about the wine. They call the wine Syrah but it contains the same amount of Syrah and Grenache (45% for each). It also has a bit of Carignan (10%) and I think that it had almost 14.5% alcohol. So, one would think that the mixture and alcohol that it was made like a California wine, not France. But I do not know how they did it have a taste of a wine from France. I would recommend it to my peeps. 🙂
The Wines of Bonny Doon
On Saturday I went for a sunset flight with a friend of my work. You can see a post on the flight by looking at my other website, Jarard.com – The Pilot. After the flight I went, as always, to Hedley Lounge in San Jose to listen to some jazz. I tried a new wine but it was nothing that I should write. The next day, the weather was magnificent. I was scheduled to spend the day with my aunt and the other with my friends in Half Moon Bay. My aunt wanted to do something in the mountains since it was such a nice day. I thought I’d drive to Santa Cruz and visit a vineyard that I have always wanted to visit – Bonny Doon. It was great since they just opened a tasting room and a restaurant in Santa Cruz about a few months ago. We took a great drive to Santa Cruz, also driving along the sea.
At first, we ate at their restaurant and the food was delicious. Everything I put in my mouth tasted good. We had foie gras with bread and strawberries, smoked potatos with aioli – and I asked for fried eggs and even that was magnificent. I would recommend the restaurant to everyone. After that, we tasted their wines. You can remember (from my last post – Le Esperienze che Hanno Unito Le Mie Interesse), last week I enjoyed a wine called Le Cigare Volant from Bonny Doon (2004). I really liked it and so I was excited to try their other wines. That day they had the following wines:

It was my first time drinking a Cinsault wine but I liked the style. It was like Pinot Noir but a little lighter. I like the two Le Cigare Volant wines but the 2003 was the best. My aunt and I bought a half bottle of it. The Nebbiolo was interesting because it was my second or third time trying it. I think I need to try it more to understand the flavor.
Il Cuore
After two hours with my aunt in Santa Cruz, I drove to my house to drop her off and then I drove to Half Moon Bay to meet my friend Koffi. He and I enjoyed ourselves at the Wine Bar in Half Moon Bay with some Clam Chowder, a bit of music (though we did not like the style) and a glass of wine. I saw a wine called “Il Cuore” on the menu, and so we tried it. The name was interesting for me given that my favorite Italian song is called “Il Cuore Assente” by Giusy Ferreri. The wine was pretty good – nothing special for me. But, Koffi bought a bottle. As always, he and I had a lot of fun talking about life, while I was also enjoying seeing planes flying overhead for the Half Moon Bay for the airshow. The view was magnificent and it was a good way to wind down my weekend.
