I Miei Amori della Lingua e il Vino Fanno Collisione

Questa settimana, i miei mondi delle lingue e vini hanno fatto collisione. Per molti mesi, ascoltavo un Podcast che si chiama “Showtime Spanish” per Radiolingua da ITunes come un modo di imparare Spagnolo. Beh, questa settimana hanno continuato una serie sopra il paese Columbia a Sud America. Durante il episodio, hanno parlato delle parole che sono comune nel paese e uno di quelle parole era “Chévere.” In Spagna e Mexico, si usa la parola “guay” per dire “cool” come inglese. Ma in Sud America, specialmente Columbia, si usano la parola “chévere” per dire lo stesso.

Ieri, sono andato al bar vicino a mi lavoro (Pampas in Palo Alto, Ca) con alcuni amici e mentre lí, ho veduto una bottiglia di vino con la parola “Chévere” sulla copertura. Allora, ho deciso provarlo. Purtruppo, il vino non ha avuto buon sapore per mi. Era secco e piatto, ma almeno l’ho provato.

Questa mattina, ho cercato per della informazione sopra questo vino e ho trovato un po’ di informazione sopra il vino. Ma, avrei giurato che il vino che ho provato era un Malbec da Chile. Ma, il sito di web per il fabbricante mostra lo stesso disegno della copertura della bottiglia ma il sito parla di un Cabernet. Beh, la storia del vino é interesante e puó leggere qui. Basato sulla mia esperenzia di assagiare il vino, io non raccomanderei questo vino, ma era una storia interessante di come i miei mondi delle lingue e delli vini hanno fatto collisione.

In Inglese: My Loves of Language and Wine Collide

This week, my worlds of languages and wines collided. For many months, I have been listening to a podcast called “Showtime Spanish” by Radiolingua from iTunes as a way to learn Spanish. Well, this week they continued a series on the country Columbia in South America. During the episode, they spoke about words that are common in the country and one of those words was “Chévere.” In Spain and Mexico, we use the word “guay” to say “cool” like English. But in South America, especially Columbia, they use the word “chévere” to say the same.

Yesterday, I went to the bar near my work (Pampas in Palo Alto, CA) with some friends and while there, I saw a bottle of wine with the word “Chevere” on the cover. So, I decided to try it. Unfortunately, the wine did not taste good to me. It was dry and flat, but at least I tried it.

This morning, I searched for some information on this vino and I found a little information on the wine. But, I could have  sworn that wine I tried was a Malbec from Chile. But, the web site for the manufacturer shows the same design of cover of the bottle but the site is about a Cabernet. Well, the history of the wine is interesting and may be read here. Based on my experience of tasting the wine, I would not recommend this wine, but it was an interesting story of how my worlds of languages and wines collided.
